Brake Press Operator (Night & Weekend)

5am-5pm Friday-Saturday-Sunday (12-hour shifts)

Job Description

This position is responsible for the daily setup and operation of a CNC Brake Press.  The operator will also assist other machine operators with any of their daily duties including area housekeeping, maintenance work, and material storage.

Essential Duties

  • Reads job specifications and blue prints to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
  • Sets stops or guides to specified length as indicated by drawing requirements.
  • Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction.
  • Measures work piece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.
  • Removes burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from work piece.
  • Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or work pieces.

Education Level

High School diploma or GED

Experience

  • Previous work experience on a Brake Press is highly preferred
  • Ability to inspect bent parts with inspection equipment
  • Work requires the demonstrated ability to read drawings
  • Knowledge of and ability to identify different types of metals highly preferred

This position will be responsible for providing technical guidance to ensure the highest quality Coating standards and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment. Leads all compliance activities and manages each step of JWFI’s coating processes, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards.  Demonstrate effective safety leadership for the health and safety of all employees and visitors.

Essential Duties

  • Implements and enforces quality control processes and procedures to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards, to include military standards.
  • Responsible for the quoting process; supports the order management process by supplying required information
  • Orders and maintains all paint and shop supplies; maintains inventory levels, manages expiration dates, leads cost management of all supplies; negotiates, prices, and purchases materials

Successful candidates will use different spray applications to apply protective coatings to both commercial and defense components.

Mixes paint according to specifications.
Moves switches and dials to start flow current and to activate conveyor and paint spraying equipment.
Readjusts pressure valves to control direction and pattern of spray and to correct flaws in coating.
Inspects painted units for runs, sags, and unpainted areas. Hand sprays parts to cover unpainted areas.
Cleans paint from ceiling and walls of booth, conveyor hooks or grid, and from disks, cones, spray heads, and hoses.

Experience

Work requires a minimum of one (1) year of experience in industrial painting, powder coating, and/or CARC.
Vo-tech or other training may be substituted for experience.
Auto body painting experience is preferred.

Job Description

These positions are responsible for the daily setup and operation of a Mitsubishi Fiber Plate Laser.  The operator will also assist other machine operators with any of their daily duties including area housekeeping, maintenance work, and material storage.

  • Perform daily machine startup and shutdown procedures
  • Load and unload materials to meet daily laser production needs
  • Ensure production schedule follow through as allocated by the scheduling department

Material Movement Coordinator

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for directing, planning and implementing activities related to material movement in a fast-pace and growing environment . This includes the management of the receiving department, material handling throughout the facilities, inventory control, and the shipping department .  The successful candidate will be required to work in a safe and professional manner at all times.

Experience

5 or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment with MRP/ERP experience along with working knowledge of lean manufacturing.

Demonstrated success in optimizing logistical functions both internally and externally.
Analytical and process orientated, driving continual improvements in quality, safety, efficiency, productivity and profitability.

JWF Industries is seeking Project Managers/Project Engineers to support the many commercial and Defense projects that comprise the business portfolio of JWF Industries.  Based in Johnstown, PA, these positions are critical to the planning and execution of projects.

Candidates must be a technical leader and be able to establish project requirements and ensure the successful implementation of all project details.  The ideal candidates will have demonstrated work experience in a metal manufacturing environment.

 

 

Essential Duties

Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated project to ensure that goals and objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties:

  • Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project
  • Confers with project personnel to define work plan. Ensures project progresses on schedule and within the prescribed budget
  • Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required
  • Prepares project reports for management, client, or others
  • Confers with project personnel, customers, and the Quality Department for technical advice and to resolve problems

Education Level

Work requires a level of knowledge generally attained through a Bachelor degree in Engineering, Business or related field. An equivalent combination of education/experience will be considered.

Experience

Experience in a metal fabrication environment is preferred.

Work requires a high-level of attention to detail, as well as the ability to self-manage frequently changing priorities.

Work also requires the ability to read and comprehend complex diagrams, blue-prints, work instructions, emails, and memos.

Successful candidates must have the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and co-workers.

Job Description

The Supplier Quality Assurance position develops proactive strategies with our supplier base to reduce rejections and improve product quality and on time delivery.  The Supplier Quality Assurance position also communicates JWF Industries’ requirements and expectations to suppliers.

Essential Duties

  • Develop and lead supplier quality improvement programs
  • Perform process audits and inspections at supplier locations
  • Flow down quality requirements to suppliers and ensure suppliers are qualified to perform functions.
  • Review inspection data such as material certifications and first article inspections. Disposition non-conforming product.
  • Develop, implement, update, and review appropriate supplier metrics (quality, on-time delivery, etc.).
  • Provide regular status reports regarding supplier quality and delivery.
  • Additional duties as needed/required

Travel, including overnight travel, will be required for this position. A travel report will be provided to management in a timely manner after each trip.

Experience

  • Experience in a metal fabrication environment preferred
  • Experience utilizing process improvement and process capability techniques, within a commercial and defense metal fabrication environment.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes, inspection methodologies and various quality measuring equipment.
  • Knowledge of Root Cause Corrective Action processes including 8D’s.

Work requires the ability to review drawings, specifications, purchase orders, and contract requirements to ensure requirements and expectations are communicated and understood by the supplier. Candidates should be familiar with both commercial and defense standards.  Work also requires the ability to read and comprehend complex diagrams, blue-prints, weld symbols, instructions, and short memos. Effective presentation skills in one-on-one and small group settings is required.
